I bought these hoping they would be like the Nickles cakes I remember so fondly. These were tasty but they aren’t at all the same. The cake in these is lighter and more delicate – more similar to angel food cake than a genoise style sponge. The filling is also smoother and not as stiff as the Nickles originals. So if you’re ok with something “like” the original, it’s a perfectly tasty cake. But if you want the real thing you’ll probably have to make them yourself. 🙂
